Ageing, balding, fat superstar athelete Shoaib Akhtar has broken down on the eve of a rare Pakistan international cricket match against any one other than Bangladesh and Zimbabwe. Its hardly surprising considering his advancing age. Akhtar's stated age is 33 but its a given that you can add 4 or 5 to that to get a more accurate picture as everyone who has any experience of domestic cricket in Pakistan would know that faking ones age is a given. Shahid Afridi claiming to be 26 is the classic example. Apparently he was in diapers when he struck that whirlwind hundred against Kenya way back in the last century sometime. Now this man is plotting and scheming one way or another to have Shoaib Malik dumped so that he can achieve another personal milestone regardless of the fact that he is unable to bat any longer and is self-obsessed to the point of ridicule. Also he has always been an instigator and an intriguer in the dressing room, never far from any ugly incident that may have occurred. He also shamed the entire nation not so long ago when he deliberately cheated against England by scuffing up the wicket so shamelessly that viewers were forced to look the other way in sheer embarassment. No doubt a charasmatic man, but hardly the leader that our cricket team requires. Salman Butt would be a far better choice however that said, what is the point of changing the skipper when the Pakistan cricket team hardly plays three times a year and with the bomb going off at yesterdays regional games in Peshawar and the Indian hockey team cancelling its trip over, things are going to lurch from bad to worse in times to come.
